Acts 5:12-16

The apostles performed many signs and wonders among the people. And all the believers used to meet together in Solomon’s Colonnade. 13 No one else dared join them, even though they were highly regarded by the people. 14 Nevertheless, more and more men and women believed in the Lord and were added to their number. 15 As a result, people brought the sick into the streets and laid them on beds and mats so that at least Peter’s shadow might fall on some of them as he passed by. 16 Crowds gathered also from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing their sick and those tormented by impure spirits, and all of them were healed. -Acts 5:12-16

Jesus shared the Gospel by addressing people’s needs.  Yes, our spiritual lives are far more important than our physical.  One day we will die, but our soul continues on in the afterlife.

But to help people see the importance of the spiritual, Jesus helped with the physical and the practical.  This entire passage is about healing and it says as a result of Jesus’ healing, many people started to believe in Jesus and become Christians.  Jesus cared for people to take care of their physical needs AND their spiritual needs.

When we help others, we need to do the same as well.  It’s not enough to just verbally tell people about Jesus.  We must show them the Gospel by loving them where they are at—by helping them with their present issues whatever they may be.

Our sharing the Gospel with both your words and your deeds?
